Connection & communication in congenital deafblindness workshops around Australia

Deafblind Information Australia project officers will host a series of one day workshops around Australia until December 2023.

This interactive workshop is suitable for education staff, therapy professionals, families and others caring for or providing services to people without full vision and hearing at birth or before acquiring language. Topics include defining and recognising deafblindness, where to find assistance to support the person’s senses, hand-under-hand teaching methods, creating shared experiences and shared meaning, exploring and practicing deafblind communication methods. Bring questions and case studies for personalised learning.

The workshops have been funded by an NDIS Information Linkages and Capacity Building Grant and are free to attend. Bookings essential.
