Experiences of deafblind people in medical and healthcare settings

Deafblind Information Australia project officer Jael Espinal McCoskey is the host of this Deafblind Awareness week webinar. Rodney Baskett and Annmaree Watharow join Jael to share research data and their own experiences of healthcare settings and services as a deafblind person. Madelene Rich adds her experience of navigating this system on behalf of her son who was born deafblind.

Together, their stories reveal a shared call for recognition, accessibility, and proactive communication strategies to create healthcare environments that respect, include, and respond to the needs of people who are deafblind.
