Introducing signing and other communication strategies to families of children with deafblindness

Madelene is the parent of a 22 year old with CHARGE Syndrome and President of CHARGE Syndrome Australasia Ltd, a not for profit support group for families and individuals with CHARGE syndrome in Australia and New Zealand.

Rob is a retired Teacher of the Deaf and Early Childhood Educator. His expertise is in early communication. He is a supporter of home-based early intervention services to support the development of meaningful communication systems. In 2018, Rob received an Order of Australia Award for significant service to children who are deaf, deafblind, or have low vision, especially those with CHARGE syndrome and their families.

In this webinar they will share their knowledge and experience in developing communication systems, focusing on the process of introducing signing to children with deafblindness. Following this, the Zoom audience will have the opportunity to ask Madelene and Rob questions.
