Privacy Policy

Welcome to the Deafblind Information Australia (DBIA) website. We appreciate your interest in us. When you visit and navigate our site, we will not collect personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide us that information. This includes when you communicate with us via our site. Any non-public personal information that you provide via our site will only be used for the purpose stated on the page where it is collected. DBIA will not sell, license, transmit or disclose this information outside of DBIA. If you provide personal details during your visit to the DBIA website, then we will only use and disclose your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected. Any other type of use and disclosure will need your consent, or will follow prescribed exemptions under privacy laws.

For example, if you complete an online form submitting a story, those details will only be used to produce the story. These details may also be used for a related secondary purpose. There may be another reason that falls within one of the exemptions of use and disclosure in the privacy legislation. Your private details will not be used for other reasons unless you give consent to do so.

The DBIA website may provide links to other websites that we think might be useful or of interest to you. These are not always owned or controlled by DBIA. Links to various websites that are not DBIA do not constitute or imply endorsement by DBIA. This includes any products or services described on these sites, or any other material contained in them.

DBIA may change this statement from time to time. When updates are made, the privacy policy version date (located at the bottom of this policy) will also be updated to reflect that a revision occurred. We encourage you to periodically reread this policy to see if there have been any changes that may affect you.
